Sauna lighting

The sauna is an essential part of the well-being concept. There are some 2 million saunas in Finland. The best expert in this matter usually is the owner of the sauna. For many, the sauna is the favourite room in their homes.

Special details of the decoration now also are trendy in saunas and shower rooms. Well-planned and appropriate lighting puts the finishing touch on a beautiful sauna. Fibre optic lighting is a method that has for some time been increasing its popularity in sauna lighting. The possibilities of using fibre optics to light up a sauna are unlimited. The shapes of the room or the seats can be elegantly highlighted, light can be used to bring out a special detail in the room, or to illuminate the water bucket, a decorative motif sand-blasted in a glass wall, a wall of glass tiles from inside the tiles etc. A fibre optic lighting system can easily be retrofitted in a sauna.

Retrofitted fibre optic lighting systems

In the lighting of saunas, Cariitti Seat Set is an excellent option when redesigning the sauna lighting or the seats. The Seat Set kits and northern lights and flame sets can also be retrofitted. The lighting sets include a VP15 projector and  fibres of different lengths.

The fibre optic projector shall be installed under the seats following the installation instructions and taking the fibre lengths in consideration. When renovating the lighting system, old electrical installations can often be used by replacing the old lighting fixture with the projector. The fibres used in the system can be installed either under the seats to illuminate the foot space or behind the back rest to light the wall and the ceiling. Thanks to the good tolerance of temperature, glass fibres can be installed in the ceiling aswell.

Lighting of steam rooms

In steam rooms, fibre optic lighting is the safest lighting option, as the optic fibre conducts only light and no electricity. A wide range of lighting fixtures is available for steam rooms. Various effects are widely used in steam rooms, like colour lighting or animated northern lights.
